Absolutely!! PA requires that all contractors be licensed with the Attorney General and carry minimum limits of liability insurance. Their license number must be present on all communications and advertisements. This number can be tracked and verified with the state. Most reputable contractors will carry much higher amounts of insurance than required and will also carry workman's' compensation insurance as well on their employees. A great question to ask your potential contractor.
